Xanadu! WHAT IS XANADU Xanadu is an Intellivision emulator which includes multiplayer support via Kaillera. Xanadu is a complete C++ rewrite of the emulation core contained in the Bliss Intellivision emulator. WHAT ELSE DO YOU NEED TO USE XANADU Just as with Bliss, you’ll need some ROM images to play games. 1) You’ll need images of the two ROM chips that were in the original Intellivision. These files must be renamed to be “exec.bin” and “grom.bin” and they must be placed in the same directory as the Xanadu emulator. 2) If you wish to play ECS games, you’ll also need the ECS ROM image and you must rename this file to be “ecs.bin” and place it in the same directory as the Xanadu emulator. 3) If you wish to hear the Intellivoice in the games which supported it, you’ll also need the Intellivoice ROM image and you must rename this file to be “ivoice.bin” and place it in the same directory as the Xanadu emulator. 4) Finally, you’ll need some images of some cartridge ROMs. The names of these do not matter as you’ll specify the filename on the command line. However, if you wish to play games over Kaillera, the files must be in the “roms” subdirectory beneath wherever Xanadu is installed. Note that the current release of Xanadu does not include support for ZIP files, so you must extract any Intellivision ROM files you do have from their ZIP files. HOW DO I RUN IT If you simply want to play multiplayer games over Kaillera, you must first have the games installed in your “roms” directory, then just launch Xanadu by double-clicking on the Xanadu.exe executable. The Kaillera user interface will appear to allow you to create and join multiplayer Intellivision games in Xanadu. If you wish to play a single-player game, open a command prompt, change to the directory where Xanadu is installed, and use the following command line. Xanadu For example, if you have the BurgerTime! ROM in a file named “brgrtime.bin” in the directory where Xanadu is installed, then to play this game, you would only need to type the following. Xanadu brgrtime.bin HOW DO I PLAY THE GAMES Because there is currently no front-end user interface to reconfigure the controls to your liking, Xanadu only supports the following keys on the keyboard for control.
